Halloween and Hot Air Balloon Regatta

I am finally getting around to post about Halloween. I guess better late than never. We had a great Halloween this year. It started with a Halloween party early Saturday morning that the library held. I love all the activities that the library here has for children. We then had a relaxing afternoon until the time came to go trick-or-treating. It was so fun this year with Jaxon he was really into the whole trick-or-treating thing and we could walk up with him to the door but he would do the knocking and stick his basket out for the candy. I think he could have gone all night. He just kept saying "Mom lets go to the next house and get candy." He even picked his costume out this year which was a hit while he was trick-or-treating. Then we had Page's Hot Air Balloon Regatta. We have known that Albuquerque New Mexico does a big Hot Air Balloon Festival each year and when we moved here we heard that part of that Festival makes its way to Page in what is called the Balloon Regatta. We didn't make it to the morning part when they send all the balloons up in the air because it was at about 5 am and we were up for sleeping but on Saturday night we met up with some friends in town, grabbed a bite to eat and headed to the main street in Page where they had blocked off about seven blocks. There were about 26 hot air balloons that lined the street and we got to watch as they laid the balloons out and then proceeded to blow them up.

The people that had the balloons each had Walkie Talkies to communicate with each other of when to release the fire in the balloons. They would do several different rhythm combinations. So here are a few pictures of the balloons lighting up.


Jaxon loved and we will definitely make our way to it again next year. Our home is always open to those who want to experience it also.
